Wine connoisseurs who turned their noses up at screwtop caps replacing corks now have a new innovative to sniff at -- plastic wine bottles designed to resemble glass but with a 29 percent smaller carbon footprint.
Australian winemaker Wolf Blass has claimed that selling wine in plastic bottles, instead of glass bottles, would reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Wolf Blass on Tuesday launched its Green Label, offering a dry white and a cabernet shiraz in plastic PET bottles.
