Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rao Satvir Singh & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 13/07/2022.

Grievance in the application is against disposal of sewage and trade effluents in the Najafgarh drain. The applicant (Rao Satvir Singh) has said that Gurugram sewage and industrial waste is being discharged in the drain.

The bench of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and Sudhir Agarwal of the NGT directed a joint Committee of the CPCB, Haryana State Pollution Control Board, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Gurugram and District Magistrate, Gurugram to furnish a factual and action taken report giving updated factual status of disposal of sewage and trade effluents in the Najafgarh drain before its entry in Delhi within one month. The report must mention sources of such discharges into drain, quantity of sewage being discharged and the performance of sewage treatment plants (STP).
