Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of St. Mark Educational Institution Society Group of Institution Vs State of Andhra Pradesh dated 03/03/2021. The matter related to violation of environmental norms by M/s Siflon Drugs at Ranchanpalli, district Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

The NGT had directed for remedial action to be taken by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board  and the District Magistrate, Anantapur and submission of a action taken report. The Joint Committee in its report after inspections on January 27, 2021 and February 11, 2021 stated that the industry had installed the requisite pollution control systems such as multiple effective evaporator, biological ETP, R.O. System and other equipments. The industry was disposing the wastewater generated through MEE followed by ATFD and Biological ETP followed by R.O system.
 
The hazardous chemicals stored in the premises were within the threshold limits and as per the Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment prepared by M/s. Indussafe Industrial Engineers, Hyderabad, even in the worst case scenario, there is no life threat to the nearby habitation.
 
The NGT taking into consideration the report directed that compliance of environmental norms should be adhered to and assess and recovery of compensation for the past violations must be done.
