The independent monitoring committee headed by Justice S. P. Barring few, all the schools and colleges have adequate and functional RWH systems. Further, there has been substantial progress in the implementation of RWH systems in various government buildings.

The NGT was also told of revival of various water bodies. The NGT appreciated the work done by the committee and requested for further compliance on the subject and submission of another report within three months. The two member bench of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and S. P. Wangdi in their order stressed on the fact that revival of water bodies is important for recharge of ground water, which in turn impacts water availability in river Yamuna and thus it was neccessary to "consider compensation regime with a view to ensure sustainable development and inter-generational equity."
